Distance to competitors

The distances chart reflects the relative movement of BTIKM to selected competitors. These are typically songs that BTIKM is likely to pass when moving up the chart, or songs that are likely to pass BTIKM. Green text indicates that BTIKM gained on the song in question compared to yesterday’s update, while red text indicates that BTIKM lost terrain to the song in question.
The actual daily changes are the +/- numbers in parantheses. Finally, when using the term “ahead of” then BTIKM is higher on the chart than the song in question. Conversely, the term “away from” means that BTIKM is lower on the chart than the relevant song.

113 spins ahead of Kearney (-4)
47 spins ahead of Outasight (-16)
13 spins away from The Cab (+8)
39 spins away from LMFAO (+3)
66 spins away from SO45 (-12)

Thanks for that observation. Hmmm …. this doesn’t sound very promising at all. Is it possible that these stations that have lowered the number of spins may increase the spins? Does that happen or is it highly unlikely?

  2. saga says:

I’d say it’s unlikely, especially when so many of them lowered rotation at the same time. I fear the song might be dead?

  3. lob says:

I think this must a clear sign that RCA has moved on. Otherwise it wouldn’t have happened so suddenly (also going from a bullet of 120 to -1 in a week this early in the song’s run does indicate the pulling of a plug imo). So does the lack of adds.
Imo, the song is not just dead, it’s dead because the plug was pulled.

I hope we’ll get the next single soon to give that one time to move up the charts.

Thanks, saga and lob. This era for Adam is off to a rather shaky start. I’m hoping that it improves quickly. There’s even more riding on the second single now. In many ways, I wish that there hadn’t been so much hype about Adam’s album. I’m not clear on exactly who has praised it so much and how significant that praise has been (i.e. are any of these people PDs at major radio stations, or music critics for legitimate media?).
