    Likin the Itunes….ALOT.

BTW- Adam played to his biggest U.S. crowd yet last night. Around 30,000 fans at Tropicana Field after the Tampa Bay Ray’s game last night. People are reporting on twitter that security said it was their biggest crowd ever- and that would bring it closer to 36,000 ( Beach Boys and Daughtry hold the record there).

Amazing considering the game went into overtime and the concert didn’t start until around 10:30-10:45.

  2. fuzzywuzzy1 says:

Not a great update on Top 40 today. Do people think that IIHY may be peaking, at least on pop? Is that attendance for the game or for Adam’s show afterwards? Regardless, it sounds like he had a really big crowd who stayed for the concert. Cool! 🙂

    • mariettejb says:

It lost an OHP spin. Without that loss the update would have been fine.

I’m just glad it wasn’t a negative update.

    • planetangst ( Studio57) says:

I don’t know if it was for the concert because there were people outside waiting in line who didn’t go to the concert- waiting for a review to come in, but from twitter accounts alot of people stayed. Estimates on twitter right now are saying anything from 31-41,000

  3. saga says:

I think the next 1-2 weeks will tell us if the song is peaking or not (on POP that is, it is going strong on HAC)… I wish RCA would jump in with some payola to increase the PC rotation a bit. Since it seems we won’t get another single from FYE they need to keep IIHY floating as long as possible imo.

    • fuzzywuzzy1 says:

Thanks, saga. I’ve read a lot of posts by fans expressing disappointment that there probably won’t be another single from FYE, saying that SW would be “wasted”. Personally, I’m not a big fan of this song, but a lot of fans seem to think that this could be Adam’s biggest hit of all. I really don’t have any idea about this. If the label released SW without any/much promotional money, would it have any chance of radioplay? Any opinions from you guys?

      • jtfacts says:

I don’t think SW would do much on CHR without a label push. It might do something on HAC, but that doesn’t move many singles. It’s possible RCA has already put out feelers regarding whether radio would play SW without a big push and got back a response that has made them decide it’s not worth it.

  4. jtfacts says:

Based on the age of the song and the sales, I think IIHY will likely peak on CHR by the end of the month. It will have had a good run.

I don’t think RCA will or should waste Adam’s money on more PC spins. Those are mostly overnight spins that aren’t going to generate much in the way of sales. And I think sales are a bigger priority than peaking at say 13 versus 15. I also don’t think extending IIHY’s time on CHR by a couple weeks is going to make any difference as far as how the next album does.

  5. saga says:

I think increased PC spins can have an indirect effect asin giving a song a strong bullet and maybe get more station to jump onboard and up their rotation.

  6. jtfacts says:

I think that’s too iffy for RCA to bother spending the money. I’d rather they put the money toward the next album.

  7. saga says:

Hmm, I am not sure we’re talking about a lot of money here… and I don’t think it is a matter of putting them on this single OR the next lead single for the album. I think it could be a good investment. It might not work but if it did work it’d be worth the money.

  8. jtfacts says:

True, neither of us knows how much the PC spins cost, whether the benefit would outweigh that cost and how dollars spent on this album affect dollars spent on the next album. If PC spins go up tomorrow, then perhaps that’s a sign RCA thinks they’re worthwhile and RCA would know that better than me. I’m just saying that if they don’t go up, suggesting RCA didn’t think it was worthwhile to get them up, then I’m not going to complain.

  9. cali50 says:

So funny, in today’s radio interview, Adm said if there was a new single released, it would be Sleepwalker. I think he knows it will be released but doesn’t want to take the focus off of IIHY until it peaks. I am still hoping for a new single. IMO, Fall of 2010 to late Spring or Summer of 2011 will be too long to have Adam off the radio and offf of TV.

  10. fuzzywuzzy1 says:

I’ve added the latest CD sales from Pulse. The single sales are higher than Mansfield’s numbers:

Adam Lambert, If I Had You (38,000, +8%, 412,000 total)
Adam Lambert, Whataya Want From Me (10,000, -2%, 1.523 million)

Is this because the BB Digital Songs chart also included the remixes?

  11. samantha says:

Last night I watched the concert as it was streamed. I’ve never done that before (seems pointless as far as audio and video quality) — but I really wanted to see and hear the crowd reaction.

I should be embarrassed to admit this, but I absolutely expected Adam’s iTunes sales to zoom right up the chart today. I mean, I was totally convinced it would happen. Silly me.

Now I’m thinking that those folks probably all went to Walmart today and bought the hard copy CD. Heh.

  12. cali50 says:

But Samantha, the single did go up from 39 to 32. And for FYE, you might like what you see at Amazon (insert smiley here.)
