Prison Jokes- Hilarious! Except Not.

Yesterday on The Daily Ten on E!, one of the commentators thought he was oh so cheeky making a statement about Adam going to jail. You be the judge:

And here is where you can complain:

i almost did not believe this when I heard it, but this guy definitely said it AND SHOULD BE FIRED. And that idiot fembot with him too for giggling like a schoolkid.

Update: GLAAD has tweeted about the Daily 10:

“GLAAD has reached out to E! regarding the offensive segment about Adam Lambert on the Daily 10. We will post updates here. about 2 hours ago via TweetDeck ”

    FUZZYWUZZY’s POST:

An interesting development in the continuing saga of Beachgate:

The E! Online commentator on “The Daily 10” makes a homophobic remark about Adam (towards the end of this video):

Then, Adam calls the guy out on Twitter:

“Who’s this new daily ten d bag? about 2 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone

There are times one has to put on their blinders, ignore, and think positively, but there are other times when it’s important to stand up for yourself. about 2 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone

It’s funny how some folks in the entertainment world echo the fearful ignorance of high school bullies. I suppose jealousy and poor tact are timeless. about 2 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone

No worries, I’m not upset… Just calling it out. about 1 hour ago via Twitter for iPhone ”

Wow! Good for Adam. I’m supporting him all the way on this one. 🙂

    MJ has blogged about it.

Thanks for moving my post, studio. I was dumbfounded at the comment by that commentator. I didn’t like the reaction of the woman either. This comment goes beyond a personal slam at Adam or the gay community, and is just offensive, period.

  3. mariettejb says:

This isn’t about Adam. It is about people at E! being OK with a prison rape joke.

A gay man would enjoy prison because he gets raped there? By that logic straight woman should enjoy being raped by men.

It’s horribly offensive and disgusting that the guy said it and that E! allowed it to go on the air.

I finally caved in and joined twitter so I can release my rage on the web, lol. Now if I only knew what the hell I was doing 😦

Please friend me. i have no friends 🙂

Rage! just rage! I don’t know what more to say about this shitty comment from this a**hole. It was a plain homophobic “joke” and there is not an excuse of it …he and the people that wrote it should apologize…or get fired.

    Adam’s twitter is blowing UP!

I updated the first post with this:

You know, i am so proud of what his fans are doing on twitter. Like someone said on MJ’s- it is more than about Adam. You let statements like this go, and everyone is going to think it is fine to just say this kind of crap.

  9. jchang365 says:

Ugh, so ridiculous. I’m glad Adam pointed this out, because it would surely just have gone unnoticed otherwise.

I don’t like that Catherwood tweeted that he “misspoke” in reference to his tasteless joke. It makes it seem like he wasn’t clear or mispronounced a word, which was not the case at all. I agree with those on twitter who are saying that Catherwood needs to make a public apology, ideally on the same show where he originally made the offensive remark.

I’m wondering if he apologized on his own, or he’s being pressured to do so.

    • samantha says:

Something sure made him change his tune. He’s saying that he would love to apologize on the show if he gets the chance.

    • planetangst ( Studio57) says:

Oh, I am sure it is the pressure- his twitter is blowing up with comments. GLAAD is involved now so this is going to come to light- they cannot sweep GLAAD under the rug. Glamberts, yes. GLAAD, no 🙂

Studio — Apparently, KROQ is a rock/alt rock station, and he’s a DJ there.

I watched part of his “Lean” video. Under the comments, it said that he got in trouble for putting this (I’m assuming the song) on his radio show. Also, according to the comments, the vid includes a pic of Ryan Seacrest. Weird.

    • planetangst ( Studio57) says:

Well the alt rocl dj thing explains the “he’s not a celebrity” remark.

The lean like a homo video explains everything else. I guess he took down his myspace or at least the offending pic of “YOU”RE A FAG”

      • fuzzywuzzy1 says:

It sounds like this isn’t the first time that Catherwood has gotten in trouble for his homophobic attitude. Jerk.
