    From the recurrent HAC chart

      🙂

Heh, maybe we should be using the HAC chart with recurrents for distance to competitors calculations for the next few weeks. Because the current chart is more or less non-moving at the moment.

I think both Pink and T$ (finally!) will go recurrent this Sunday, but after that it looks to be quite a while before IIHY is in shape to move up further – unless of course a bunch of new stations start spinning. So, boring.

  2. fuzzywuzzy1 says:

IIHY continues to do well, with another good increase in AI at Top 40. 🙂

  3. saga says:

I have to say, both charts look boring atm. The droppers on POP take ages to drop and HAC is stale. But yeah, you are right about the HAC chart lob, lot’s of recurrent to pass in the top20.

  4. angelaforaml says:

thanks for the distances, lol, appreciate it 🙂
so, if i calculate correctly, we are looking at 16 for the next published chart (pop), should pass derulo and perry, but what’s happening next week? any recurrents or anything to help to move to 15?
and, wow at riri’s updates, it looks like she will fly over in about 6-7 days? and it’s not even such a good song imo…but hear it on z100 non stop already 😦

  5. fuzzywuzzy1 says:

I don’t know if people have seen this, but the Houston Press issued an “apology” for that weird review of Adam’s show on the basis that it didn’t review the music.

    http://blogs.houstonpress.com/rocks/2010/09/adam_lambert_reviewing_our_rev.php

Not much of an apology IMO.

    • angelaforaml says:

Yes, i saw it this morning, and actually was happy to read it. Even though they denied that the article was homophobic in the first place, that last statement made up for the rest. They admitted that the review was not about music and did apologize for it.

    • jchang365 says:

      The comments are like death.

  6. cali50 says:

I think the fact thta they issued an apology, at all, is kind of great! He wasn’t going to throw his writer under the bus. I still don’t thnk the guy was there on the basis of his kiss description. At least the editor addressed the problem.

    • fuzzywuzzy1 says:

What’s that about? I read that the reviewer gave up his 2nd row seat to a fan so is that why you think that he left? How reliable is that information?

  7. planetangst ( Studio57) says:

Yeah, i saw it too- i love how they don’t try to explain the article at all- they just say they would not tolerate homophobia. Okay then. Like everyone would just accept that, lol.

And ya gotta love the usual suspects that just show up with the same catchphrases- cows, deluded, Claymates, etc. I just shook my head over it- not gonna give them more hits then I already did- which was ALOT that first day- it was just damn funny, lol.

  8. samantha says:

Does anyone have a prediction regarding how high IIHY is gonna go on Top 40 and HAC? Just some guesses? Based on your analysis of the rest of the chart — or just gut instinct, what might happen here?

Maybe it’s just that the chart is boring right now, but something is making me angsty.

  9. planetangst ( Studio57) says:

Samantha- I don’t think it will get as high as WWFM, so I’m gonna guess around #15 on Pop and I don’t care enough about HAC to even try to guess, lol.

  10. fuzzywuzzy1 says:

I’m not happy about IIHY falling on iTunes, even though AI has increased in radioplay. Have there a lot of new songs released that are responsible for this?

    • samantha says:

It seems logical that Adam is gaining some new fans (not sure to what extent) from the tour. I think that explains why his album continues to sell in numbers that are large enough for Mansfield to report.

It’s likely that a new fan would buy the album rather than the single, I think. Since Adam hasn’t had any TV appearances to promote IIHY, I can’t think of a reason that someone would go to iTunes to buy that song specifically. I could be missing something.

      • jtfacts says:

I think it’s more likely that songs featured on the VMAs got a bump and passed (Florence + the Machine skyrocketed for example). Plus, the song is old in markets like Philly and NYC. If you’re a radio listener in those cities, you’ve been hearing the song for ages and would have bought by now if you really liked it. At the end of the day, I think a number of people like IIHY, but I don’t think a ton of people love it the way they loved smash hits like Airplanes or Breakeven. Insert disclaimer acronyms here.

  11. samantha says:

    Disclaimer acronyms? Love it.
