Love it! Wouldn’t it be great if it was loved all over the world and then the US, with egg on their faces, decides to give it a go?

    I know- in a perfect world….

Great news! Unfortunately, there’s this report from a fan on that thread at AO.com:

Adam told a fan at M&G Sunday nite that even if Fever is successful internationally it will not be released as US single because radio will never play it.

Oh well. I’m glad that “Fever” is getting a chance as a single abroad. 🙂

  3. planetangst ( Studio57) says:

Gee, I wonder what he meant by that. According to some of the posters at Pulse, there is no such thing as homophobia in radio. ( rolls eyes).

If Adam is really telling people that, you KNOW RCA has researched it. God, I wish they would just say F it and try anyway.

I’m pretty sure there are still some laws against sodomy in the law books of Singapore.

But great anyway that another country is getting Fever. I think FYE was a big hit there so I doubt a bit of “he” will matter there.

I think that you are right about that. This is the latest that I could find about Singapore and anti-sodomy laws:

      * Malaysia’s neighbour Singapore repealed Section 377 in 2007. But retained Section 377A, which specifies a 2-year jail term, as its Prime Minister concluded Singapore was still a conservative country uncomfortable with homosexuality.

I put this in the numbers thread from yesterday, but that thread is dead. So here his Adam’s take on Fever ever being released as a single in the US.

So, a PFer, at a M&G today told Adam, all her teenage kids friends love Fever. “Will it ever be a single in the US?” Adam said, “No, It wouldn’t get played.” The PFer then asked, “What if it does really well internationally?” Adam said, “No, it doesn’t matter how well it does in other countries. It won’t ever be a single here.” The PFer said, “But it’s a great dance song and one of my favorites.” He said, “One of my favorites too.. But that’s just the reality of the way it is.”
