Houston, We Have A Problem…..

Update: Rebuttal article:

WTF?  Review from The Houston Press.

What matters most at an Adam Lambert concert is what happens during and in between those songs – when Lambert grinds with the boy in the makeup, when Lambert sticks his tongue on the cheek of the boy with pale face.

Because when that happens, the audience slinks and turns away as if these acts are unacceptable at shows featuring our idol. Guess we only pretend to be accepting. And this being the “Glam Nation” tour, there were the obligatory glam signifiers – light shows, background pictures of scary adorable wolves, the black leather fingerless gloves. But it felt contrived.

    Lets ignore this shit, ok?

Giving idiotic ppl hits and attention is counterproductive.

I haven’t read it, but since everybody is talking about it I’m aware of it. I’m more annoyed by the fact that this is a topic of conversation than than someone wrote it in the first place

I hate that this guys is getting hits for this rubbish. To use a Simon phrase, “Indulgent rubbish!” I’d much rather see this Houston Music Blog get the hits.
He obviously knows somehting about music and technique.

I just thought the whole article was so totally out there, lol. There is no way anyone is going to ignore an article like that and they know it. I never really prescribed to the thought of “ignoreitanditwillgoaway”. It never does, it only invites the other haters in to be vocal. YMMV of course. At least he is getting his ass handed to him. And there is no way any Glambert can come off looking crazier than a dude that is saying his fans are going to his shows out of guilt.

Maybe the link should be edited out of the post.

Papers are figuring out that writing negative about Adam gets more hits that writing postitive. Well done fans.

What a strange “review”. I could only read part of it because when I try to access the full review and comments, all I get is a blank page. There were 234 comments? It’s hard to fathom how this reviewer came to his conclusions about Adam and his belief that people are interested in his music and performing out of guilt, patronizing him in order to feel progressive and good about themselves.. Wut? So “out there” that it’s ridiculous.

    • planetangst ( Studio57) says:

Not only that, he talked about Adam licking “pale face” ( Tommy) and I guess there was no such thing last night, lol. Yeah, the comments are just piling up there. So what- the guy gets hits on his blog for one day and no one is going to bother with it tomorrow. Some of the comments are funny as hell. I have been amused all morning.

Someone in the comments section posted a review he did for Taylor Swift, basically praising her for her talent, being a role model, someone we can all identify with yet being like no one else out there. I guess he must not have seen the Grammy’s last year when she butchered Rhiannon.

I’m thinking that this music blog prides itself on being ‘alternative’ and ‘hipster’. The key to being hipster these days, other than wearing large, black-rimmed glasses and listening to music that no one has ever heard of, is to be ironic.

This guy is simply spewing ridiculous theories to mess with peoples minds.

    How ‘hipster’ of him!!!

    • planetangst ( Studio57) says:

I picture him as Barry from High Fidelity.

I have an old high school friend that friended me on facebook and I have been regretting it ever since. He was one of those hipsters then, and he is STILL a music snob. He loves all these obscure bands and prides himself on knocking any musical “likes” of mine. I really can’t stand him now and wondered why I was ever friends with him in the first place, lol.
